Exploring the Derwent Valley
In March 2025, founding member Dawn Metcalfe had an idea of creating a trail running club in Dipton, County Durham. That club was to be called Derwent Valley Trail Runners (DVTR) who on the evening of Thursday 02nd April 2015, met up at Dipton Surgery car park for their very first run as a club. Within the space of twelve its membership swelled to approximately 70 members .
Derwent Valley Trail Runners are a vibrant trail running club based in the picturesque countryside of Dipton, County Durham. Our focus is on promoting health and wellbeing through the exploration of local trails and connecting with nature. Join us for some exhilarating runs, whatever the weather, day or night hitting the trails as one big social group.
